3. Why doesn’t my computer detect the TechnOtunes Watch
drive?
For Windows 98, ME, XP and 2000 users, the USB function must be
enabled in the BIOS and Windows has detected the USB port(s)
successfully. If you are running an older version of Windows 98,
install the driver from the CD. If you still cannot see the drive,
contact our technical support team at info@technotunes.net.
4. What type of memory does the TechnOtunes Watch use?
The TechnOtunes Watch uses highly reliable, non-volatile flash
memory.
5. Will I lose data if I replace the battery in the Watch?
No. The Flash Memory inside the watch only operates off the host
computer power supply. No battery is necessary to replace unless
the watch stops.
6. Why can’t I hear any music on the watch after I transfer music files to
the watch?
If you are using an analog watch, make sure the music files are only MP3
format. They will not play WMA. However, digital watches with the LCD
screen will play both MP3 and WMA formatted songs.
7. Can ScanDisk be used with the TechnOtunes Watch?
Yes.
8. Does TechnOtunes Watch use Japan Movement?
Yes.
9. Why does my digital watch with LCD screen only show me the time
function and not play music when I hit the play button?
You need to hold the play button for 3 seconds, or until MP3 Watch is
illuminated on the screen. Then, just hit the play button, and you
should start to hear the music play.
10. Under Windows 98, after the drivers have been
installed, I get a question mark on "USB Disk" in the Device
Manager when the TechnOtunes Watch Drive is plugged in, and no drive
letter for the TechnOtunes Watch shows up under My Computer. What can
I do?
Under the Device Manager, go to the properties of "USB Disk" and
go to the Driver tab and click "Update Driver" Choose to specify a
location and use "C:\Windows\Inf" for the driver's location. If you
receive an error message that "Windows is unable to locate the
driver.", uninstall and reinstall the drivers and try again.
11. Can I format the TechnOtunes Watch Drive?
Yes. Follow the instructions that pertain to your operating
system.
12. Can data from the TechnOtunes Drive be shared in a
network?
The TechnOtunes Drive acts as a local drive on the host machine
and the data housed on the drive can be shared on a network if file
sharing on the host machine is enabled.
13. Do I need to turn off my computer when installing the
TechnOtunes Watch?
No. Since the TechnOtunes Watch is plug and play compatible, you
can connect and disconnect the TechnOtunes Watch at any time.
14. Can the TechnOtunes Watch be infected with a virus?
Yes. The TechnOtunes Watch acts like your hard drive and
therefore, can be infected by any files you save on it. We
recommend that all users run anti-virus software before adding or
copying files to and from the TechnOtunes Watch.
15. What type of files can I save on the TechnOtunes Watch?
Any file type is acceptable.
